A Clockwork Olive

Posted July 15th, 2013 by Lesley Hazleton

Last month, while I was in the UK, some felonious driver came barreling into the side of my 17-year-old car, wrecking it.  I loved that car, and had planned on driving it another 17 years.  But my insurance company (Geico) was wonderful.  They cut me a check and gave me a rental.  A very nice, sensible rental.  Just the kind of car I might reasonably buy next.

I tried to be sensible, really I did.  I thought about it long and hard (at least an hour).  But how could I resist a car that matches my tree?

It’s love, again.

Lesley, there is someone who I want you to know, and I want her to know you. I was in Afghanistan in April for 6 days and met an American lawyer there named Kim Motley. She uses Sharia law to great advantage for her Afghan clients and I have, for the past weeks, been meaning to introduce you two by email. Perhaps you have heard of her, if not, google her. I suspect that you both would benefit from knowing each others work. – talk with you soon! – Bill https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3224921719508&set=a.1295623328254.34770.1760488170&type=1&theater

I rented one of those Fiat 500s while in France last year. Not much trunk space but great fun to drive! Interesting colour…

Yes, but only elephants need space for their trunks…

JEALOUS! That’s the vehicle Mark and I have had our eye on — didn’t know it came in olive. So happy that you decided not to be *too* practical or sensible. I might not recognize you, and we certainly wouldn’t “match” anymore. 😉

I can see you in the pale green or pale blue, but happy to match olive for olive. http://www.fiatusa.com/hostc/bmo/CUX201301FFFP24A/2DJ/colors.do

Congrats on your new love! That is the same way I came to have my forest green Subaru, when I lost my previous forest green car in a accident. I think the rental places give us cars that we might fall in love with and eventually buy. I love green, olives, and peace.
